Course aims
The course aims to:
1) Introduce the students to the concepts of inter- and trans-disciplinarity;
2) Provide students with an understanding of how theatre practitioners dialogue with other disciplines as a way to invigorate and innovate practice;
3) Offer students further opportunity to contextualise their practice and that of others within the contemporary field of performance and related fields.
Learning outcomes
Students who have passed the course will be able to:
1) examine the role of inter and transdisciplinarity approaches in innovating performing arts practices today;
2) analyse their own practice in relation to these concepts;
3) apply a variety of research and creative methods for the study of contemporary performing arts;
4) Investigate multiple research strategies to develop their practice.
