Course aims
The course aims to:
1) Provide students with an historical overview of Estonian theatre and performance;
2) Provide students with on overview of current topical issues and aesthetic choices of Estonian theatre and performance;
3) Discuss the performances currently in the repertoire and analyse them in both the Estonian and the international context.
Learning outcomes
Students who have passed the course will:
1) Understand the historical development of Estonian theatre and performance;
2) Undestand in the current state of Estonian theatre and performance;
3) Know the functioning of various performing arts institutions, the theatre system and the educational system of Estonia;
4) Develop their analytical skills in discussing contemporary performance.
