Course aims
Conducting as an optional or elective course is meant for interested students of any specialty. Students acquire basic manual techniques of conducting, skills of communicating musical information through conducting, and knowledge required for score analysis, interpretation of different styles and working with a choir. Active involvement of students with a choir - as a singer or, preferably, choirmaster or conductor - is recommended.
The conducting course can be taken for a total of 6 semesters at the BA and MA level.
Learning outcomes
In the case of strong potential and systematic work, students will acquire the basic skills for working as a choirmaster as well as a conductor of an amateur choir.
