Course aims
This course provides an overview of the forms and styles of academic writing and oral self-expression. The course introduces the issues of plagiarism and research ethics. The subject is mandatory for first-year doctoral students.
Learning outcomes
After completing the subject, doctoral students will have a command of the writing of academic texts, know the types of academic texts and their specifics, be able to work with sources and academic literature and know how to format their work according to requirements. They will have experience of making academic presentations. They will be familiar with the fundamentals of academic peer-reviewing, know what plagiarism is, and will also be aware of the rules of research ethics.
