Course aims
A theoretical course about the history of jazz from its birth to the present day. The cultural and social background of jazz, major stylistic periods, composers and interpreters.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the subject, students will have a comprehensive knowledge of the main stylistic periods, composers and musical interpreters of jazz music, as well as their historical and social background.
