Course aims
This practical course teaches students to perform various jazz styles and manage jazz harmony. The skills to be acquired are necessary for understanding jazz music, and for studying other subjects.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the subject, students will:
- be able to perform a jazz piece based on chord symbols
- perform the respective piece in a stylistically accurate and expressive manner
- be able to smoothly combine the progressions of different chords
- apply the tools of harmonic enrichment
- be able to use various rhythmic components in the texture of the accompaniment.
