Course aims
The aim of the subject is to introduce keyboard music until the end of the 18th century. The lecture in Estonian is held in the autumn semester, the lecture in English takes place in the spring semester.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the subject, the student will have learned the following about early keyboard music:
- most important composers, schools and stylistic periods;
- different forms;
- interpretational principles;
- instruments;
- relations to more recent piano music;
- relations to the historical background of music and art.
