Course aims
The student learns to form correct (ready for publishing) scores and orchestra sounds via a computer. The "Finale" program is mostly used, but the student also learns other programs ("Cubase", "Mosaic"). Semi-automatic notation possibilities (sequencers, sequencer pograms, MIDI files). Possibilities of further graphic processing of musical notations. The problems concerning the notation of contemporary music. Solutions to the problems.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, students are expected to know the main principles of notation and be able to express them with notation software. Students who have completed the course will be able to independently notate a simple musical score using computer software. They are required know how to accurately express themselves in terms of musical grammar. The outcome should be easy to understand for every professional musician.
