Course aims
The aim of the subject is to develop creativity and self-evaluation; guide the student in understanding the need to see one´s compositions in a broad global multifaceted cultural context and perfect technical skills, especially in the field of modern orchestration, emphasizing the new technological/technical possibilities at the composer´s disposal.
In one semester, there are 30-40 lessons (academic hours) with the possibility to make part of them in small groups.
Learning outcomes
Upon completing the subject, the student will be able to:
1. Express clearly and convincingly various compositional ideas;
2. Discuss and argue the criteria of choice used, and put one´s work in a wider perspective;
3. Understand and apply European orchestral traditions and modern techniques;
4. Invent new solutions for compositional problems and issues.
