Course aims
The aim of the subject is to prepare the student for independent professional work in the field of music composition, and develop independent judgment capacity, critical thinking skills and wide cultural horizon.

Learning outcomes of the module. Upon completion of the module the student will be able to:
1. Express creative ideas in a musically convincing and technically correct way.
2. Choose from among various technical possibilities the most appropriate solution for a given musical situation.
3. Demonstrate good knowledge of Western orchestral instruments.
4. Describe his/her own compositions in the wider context of contemporary music.
