Course aims
The aim of the course is to provide an overview of the main composing trends and important figures and compositions of the second half of the 20th century. This is a preparatory course for further in-depth courses.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the subject, students will have received an overview of the most important developments in the past 60 years and learned to know the works of contemporary music. They are familiar with the most outstanding composers and compositions, being able to place them in a more general context. They are also able to continue further independent studies in the field.
