Course aims
The subject aims to provide knowledge and training in theatre dances and movements of different centuries and styles from the pre-modern to the 20th century. The subject focuses on the music theatre of the millennia. The student is taught etiquette (bows, kissing the hand, kneeling, etc.) and fencing skills. The subject consists of 30 lessons of neoclassical and romantic choreography and 30 ballet lessons.
Learning outcomes
- Acquiring knowledge in ballroom dances throughout the centuries;
- Acquiring knowledge in bows;
- Acquiring an ability to perceive group movements, relate to the dance partner and follow the spatial movement plan;
- Acquiring an ability to recognise the principles of movement, hand positions and bows characteristic of different eras;
- Learning the principles of classical dance, coordination, aesthetics and relating to the music in ballet lessons;
- Learning several basic elements and dance steps.
