Course aims
Explore the principles of public speaking, fundamentals of acting skills, various theater methods, directions, and practitioners through games and exercises, discussions, literature, and self-reflection.
Learning outcomes
A student who has completed the course:
- is familiar with various pre-performance techniques for awakening the body, voice, and mind;
- can express themselves vividly both verbally and physically;
- is able to act on stage in a clear and engaging manner for the audience;
- collaborates effectively with partner(s);
- can focus on what is happening on stage and respond accordingly;
- can analyze the work, actions, and characters and use the information found on stage;
- can prepare independently for rehearsals and performances, notices and remembers the solutions found during class/rehearsal, and can repeat them;
- has an interest in cultural events and keeps abreast of professional developments in the field.
