Course aims
To develop required improvisation skills, an ability to think in and with sounds in self-expression, immediate ensemble skills (instant responses to a partner), as well as to resolve.
Learning outcomes
Upon completing the module, the student will be able to:
1. Perform repertory of different periods and styles, and realize creative ideas with artistic maturity and technical fluency;
2. Demonstrate proficiency of technical skills specific to the field of study;
3. Display a sense and understanding of different styles and apply the appropriate articulation, phrasing, dynamics etc;
4. Perceive musical structure and communicate the emotional and artistic content of the work;
5. Handle various problems and issues that emerge in the course of working in different settings, such as master classes, orchestral or ensemble rehearsals, and take on leadership if necessary;
6. Apply the obtained knowledge, skills and experience independently in one´s musical activity;
7. Assess critically one´s level of proficiency and take steps to improve if needed, both in music and in the wider field of cultural knowledge;
8. Verbalize, analyze and resolve various issues related to one's repertory;
9. Teach, instruct, and transmit information, competence and professionality.
