Course aims
Students acquire the basic knowledge and skills for teaching musical instruments/vocal to beginners. They learn about different teaching methods and study aids for basic and intermediate levels. The course supports the development of an analytical approach to issues of interpretation and playing technique.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the subject, students will:
- know the origins and story of the development of their main instrument
- be familiar with the styles of different periods and know the most important musical interpreters on their main instrument
- have knowledge of the main methodological and interpretative concepts of instrument playing
- know the main principles of instrument pedagogy
- be able to analyse the main techniques and positions of playing their main instrument
- have knowledge of the specificity of teaching musical instruments and vocal at the basic and intermediate level
