Course aims
The subject aims to prepare students for independent work as teachers. To further develop and diversify the pedagogical knowledge acquired during the Musical Instrument Performance History and Didactics (PEX611).
Students attend the classes of different instrument teachers and expand their horizons by observing and analysing other teachers' pedagogic repertoire and various forms of pedagogical activities.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the subject, students will:
- be able to analyse observation lessons and give feedback to these
- be able to determine their practice student´s musical abilities
- be able to choose an instrument that fits the size of the child and teach the right playing techniques
- have experience in putting together an individual study programme
- know the requirements for primary music school curricula
- be able to apply pedagogical-psychological knowledge in on-to-one lessons and motivate their learners
