Course aims
Deepening and diversifying pedagogical skills acquired in undergraduate studies.
Preparing students for independent pedagogical work, with a focus on intermediate/advanced/pre-professional level students. Intensive work on refining the studied repertoire. Familiarization with the specifics of interest-based education, ensemble playing, and adult education. Maintaining an e-diary is required (except for JM students). Lessons with students generally occur twice a week.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the subject, master’s students will be able to:
- work independently as music school teachers
- recognise pedagogical problems and find suitable methods for solving them
- plan lessons, taking into account the learned material, the student’s individual development and previously set goals by choosing suitable methods and repertoire
- pass on their specialist knowledge and skills in a competent manner, using contemporary teaching methods
- motivate students and get them ready for stage performances
- analyse their own activity and that of their students by integrating the acquired knowledge in pedagogy and psychology
